Is this internship for real?
Knowing the internship situation in my country, I was very skeptical about the opportunity to learn about SEO and content marketing in GigaVoice.
First, when I saw the ad I was like, You guys have just listed all new keywords about SEO and Content Marketing, but we are only going to make coffee.
Then, after the orientation season this thought was constantly circulating in my mind: Come on! Are we really going to learn all these amazingly topics? We are just making coffee, aren’t we?
And finally, after just a few weeks of the internship I was screaming to everybody close to me WOW! We’re actually learning about SEO and Content Marketing strategies, and were implementing them for real!
So, as you can see, I’ve changed my mind positively about
the idea of an internship. Also, I must admit that I’ve learned a lot. And, I’m still learning!
Benefit #1: Learning real trends
What fascinates me about a career in SEO is that the work is very flexible and active. This job hasn’t got a fixed frame to follow! You have to constantly upgrade your skills as job responsibilities are constantly changing. This means you must track new strategies in marketing, read a lot, and explore… just to keep pace with the worlds trends. Plus, it involves a huge amount of creativity and the skill to get-on-top-of-new-trends.
Benefit #2: Fast paced strategies
I think that this job is like life itself. You dont know where you’re going, but you are planning to have a better future. Thats the point in life, so this is also a main point of SEO and Content Marketing: You’re planning, searching, reading, and in a moment, it could all go down the drain. So, you must change strategies quickly. That’s the exciting about this job.
In conclusion, I must say that I underestimate this internship at the very beginning, but it proved me quite the opposite: Yes! You can learn a lot from an internship! Also, it showed me that SEO and Content Marketing are flexible jobs without fixed work-frame as well as life itself.
So, my advise to you?
1. Keep aiming for a career direction that matches your needs.
2. Read a lot.
3. Keep searching: the right internship will come along for you.
